Introduction

The Coronal Diagnostic Spectrometer (CDS) is an instrument aboard the ESA/NASA Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO). It is designed to obtain spectra-spectroheliograms in a number of lines simultaneously in the extreme ultraviolet (EUV) region of the electromagnetic spectrum.
